Janann Sherman sends pictures from Florida vacation

I visited sunny Florida the first week in January for a little R 'n' R
after two weeks in rainy Oregon doing home repair for my mother. Florida
is filled with countless shopping strips interspersed with gated
retirement communities. Nonetheless, I found some pretty beaches and
some of the most marvelous birds I've ever seen. I have sought great
blue herons wherever possible, but only in Florida did I manage to see
them every day. And the pelicans are so tame that they let me come close
enough to capture them on film in great detail. Enjoy the photos!
